I am a passionate patient advocate and have been dealing with my diagnosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) for around 13 years. I have embraced the need to control my co-morbidities (family history of heart disease, etc.) as a way to keep my body "in shape" to be best suited for my cancer journey. I have become an avid speed walker. Although currently relapsed, I try to get my exercise in every day. I am a little obsessed with the speed walking and have managed to get in a full marathon and several half marathons while relapsed.
It is absolutely possible to live a great life with a cancer diagnosis.
