A Flow test, also known as flow cytometry, is a laboratory test that uses a machine to measure the physical and chemical characteristics of cells, such as size, shape, and the presence of certain proteins on the surface of the cells. It is important for a CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) diagnosis because it can help identify and quantify the number of abnormal lymphocytes, which are a key feature of CLL. The test can also be used to evaluate the stage of the disease, monitor the response to treatment, and detect the emergence of resistance mutations. Flow test can also be used to distinguish between different types of leukemia or lymphoma.
